June 14, 2016 – Nana’s House Child Care Center wanted to do something meaningful for the community, and they achieved that on June 4th with their inaugural Children’s Expo in Rock Hill, NY.
The mission of Nana’s House Child Care Center, a non-for-profit 501 (c) (3), is to “offer high quality child-care with focuses on educational curriculum, child development fun and creativity in a safe and nurturing environment. The philosophy of a child care center largely influences the types of activities, the curriculum and the kind of care that will be present in the center.” One reason why it’s important for the community to involved in local child care centers.
Combined Energy Services was excited to participate in this inaugural expo by bringing a small crane truck and a propane tank. Children were able to see how a crane operates, get up close and personal with a propane tank, and were even allowed to jump in the driver’s seat and pretend to drive the big rig!
The expo was an extravaganza of educational, entertaining demonstrations, introducing children to Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math and Music (STEAM).
To succeed in this new information-based and highly technological society, students need to develop their capabilities in STEAM to levels much beyond what was considered acceptable in the past and events like this spark innovative thoughts!
CES wasn’t alone in their efforts to educate the children of their community either! A variety of local companies were there too; from drone flying, military vehicles, race cars to police and K-9 units; children were able to get their hands on it all!
Locally owned and operated, CES strongly believes in the power of giving back and educating the children of our community. They were pleased and proud to be part of Nana’s House Children’s Expo!
