Another Combined Energy Services van has found a new life helping seniors at the Pike County Area Agency on Aging (pikeaaa.org). With almost 30 serviceable vehicles donated to local non-profit agencies over the last 8 years, CES is pleased to be able to give back to the communities we serve.
“It’s a privilege to be able to contribute to the communities that support our businesses,” commented Mike Taylor. “We commend the services that organizations like the Pike County Area Agency on Aging provide to residents and hope that this van will help make their jobs easier.”
In her donation request, Robin Soares commented the agency is non-profit, assisting and serving senior citizens of Pike County age 60 and older. The van donation will assist the agency in providing Meals on Wheels to homebound seniors especially during the pandemic increase in need. They currently serve 800-1,000 meals per week as part of their in-home delivered meal program.
Pike AAA provides emergent services to ensure the safety and well-being to seniors in Pike County. On a single day they may have to deliver durable medical equipment to prevent falls, emergent meals, move an older adult due to home conditions or domestic violence. Their needs are as endless as the services that they provide. Here is an example of the services that they provide:
- Case Management/Service Coorination
- Protective Services
- Personal Care
- Home Bound Meal Delivery
- Ombudsman Services
- Sponsor a Senior – as little as $15/week donation will cover the cost of a weeks worth of meals
