Whether’s it’s home heating fuel or service – you can count on us!
We’ve certainly met a few challenges since 1968. There’s been blizzards, power outages, tornadoes and fuel shortages but we’ve never seen anything quite like COVID-19. Our new normal seems to change daily and we’ve had to adapt the way we do business.
Here’s a few things we’ve changed in order to keep our employees and customers safe:
- We’ve transferred most of our office staff to working from home. That includes not just our great customer services reps but also our delivery drivers and service techs. Drivers and service techs come to our branches for supplies and head back out.
- Reduced hours or closed our storefronts for walk-in traffic. Most storefronts have drop boxes and you can always call in for deliveries or payments. Don’t forget about our smartphone app and our online customer portal.
We have always been available over the phone and not just 9 am – 5 pm. Our office opens at 7 am and we have representatives available into the evening. Emergency services is available 24/7 and you will speak with one of our own employees, not someone in another state or country.
There is still service available. We’re trying to keep contact between our employees and customers to a minimum. If someone is sick in your home, let us know so that precautions can be taken.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work out these challenges. Together we will get through this.
Frost Valley YMCA was delighted to receive an in-kind donation of a pre-owned box truck from Combined Energy Services (CES) in Monticello. For the past 15 years, CES has been donating vehicles they are retiring from their fleet to local non-profit organizations.
“At CES, we feel it’s important to be involved in the community and support its residents,” says Mike Taylor, Combined Energy Services Manager. “As a locally owned company, we are honored to be able to give back to great non-profits like Frost Valley YMCA. Frost Valley’s mission and values of serving the community ring true with our own. We appreciate that they serve a number of children and families through its various programs and hope that our donation can help make their operations more efficient.”
A valuable resource for the 5,500-acre camp, the 2005 GMC Box Truck will be used to transport fresh produce from Frost Valley’s Educational Farm, located at 2875 Denning Road in Claryville, to be enjoyed by guests in its Main Camp Dinning Hall. The truck will also help carry equipment across camp, minimizing the burden for Frost Valley’s only other box truck. Pictured on the right is Ron Lindholm, Supply & Logistics Director, handing the keys over to Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor Ken Engle .
Frost Valley YMCA is a values-driven organization with a mission to foster youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility through outdoor educational and recreational programs for all. Located in the heart of the Catskill Mountains, Frost Valley provides year-round access to nature and fun through programs such as summer camp, adventure trips, farm camp, equestrian programs, group and family retreats, family weekends, school trips, teambuilding and more. Frost Valley, a not-for-profit organization chartered through the YMCA of the USA, is guided in this pursuit by its core values which serve as pathways for guests as they bond with nature and each other: Caring, Community, Diversity, Honesty, Inclusiveness, Respect, Responsibility, and Stewardship.

Hopatcong Gas Services, a Sussex County New Jersey supplier of propane gas has merged with Combined Energy Services, a regional supplier of propane gas & fuel oil.
Established in 1994 by Bill Sutphen as part of their family hardware store in Lake Hopatcong NJ, Hopatcong Gas grew to service parts of Sussex & Morris Counties including Byram, Netcong, Roxbury, Ledgewood, Stanhope, Jefferson & Mt Arlington, New Jersey.
“This truly family run company treated their customers as their friends,” Manager Sherri Sutphen Norlander stated. Sherri’s mom, Priscilla, would take orders & help customers in the store while dad, Bill, and long time delivery driver Butch Bunnicant would handle deliveries & installations.
When the time came to sell Hopatcong Gas, The Sutphens could have easily chosen one of the big stock market nationwide gas corporations but knew their customers would be unhappy in the long run. “When you supply people for decades, they’re more than ‘just’ customers – they’re friends and family.
We’ve known Combined Energy Services, their people and the Taylors for a long time and knew they would take care of our customers properly, instead of treating them like a number like corporations do”.
CES hopes to bring additional services to the customers of Hopatcong Gas including automatic bulk deliveries and cylinder deliveries, expanded service capabilities and installation of gas burning appliances, heating systems and fuel oil conversions.
CES manager Mike Taylor said, “Hopatcong Gas is a perfect fit with CES as we’re gaining new customers all over North New Jersey every day. We’re on target to get our new office & showroom along with full service distribution center open shortly to better service our growing customer base”.
Combined Energy Services has been servicing customers throughout the tri-state region of NJ, NY & PA since 1968 from four service centers and a team of over 130 professionals that are available 24/7. As one of the fastest growing energy providers in the region we’ve learned the way to grow is by giving fantastic customer service mixed with competitve pricing.
Customers of Hopatcong Gas shouldn’t see much difference going foward, just great service from another family owned company that cares for their customers along with expanded capabilities.
