As spring and summer come upon us, the weather will gradually become warmer, more people will go outside and the smell of BBQ will begin to fill the air.
If you use propane grills, at some point, the propane cylinder tank will come to the end of its life cycle and no longer be serviceable. When it’s time to get rid of your old propane cylinder, it’s important to know how to properly dispose of a propane tank cylinder. Proper disposal is a matter of environmental safety, as well as personal and home safety.
Since many of these cylinders are portable, customers can take the tank to their local propane company where they know how to properly dispose of them. This is the safest and best option. Residual propane may be left in the tank, and the propane company has the knowledge and equipment to safely remove the product. After the product is safely removed, the tank is depressurized, all the valves and fittings are removed and the tank is scrapped.
Unlicensed individuals attempting to remove gas from a cylinder or any propane tank prior to disposal can result in fire, injury or death.
Leave it to the professionals. Combined Energy Services accepts cylinders at their office locations at NO COST (1 lb. camping type cylinders cost $2 each). The decision is safety and environmentally driven – to keep cylinders out of the waste stream, keep them from being thrown roadside since they cannot be discarded, and protect area fire fighters since if they, they will accumulate on properties.

When choosing a propane or fuel oil, it’s important to go with a company you can trust! You want to put your home or business in the hands of a company you can feel comfortable with. Large companies view their customers as a number, a dollar sign at the end of the month.
Family owned companies, like Combined Energy Services treats people like, well…. people!
CES started as a one truck business and has grown to be one of the largest propane gas & fuel oil suppliers in the region, while remaining independently owned and run by the Taylor Family.
In 1968, Walter Taylor started working nights delivering fuel oil from their office in the family’s home while still working days for a local fuel oil distributor.
CES never lost focus on Walt’s steadfast commitment to giving excellent service and attention to every customer, regardless of how small.
Throughout the years, Combined Energy Services acquired several companies in the energy industry, diversifying their products and services!
Wechsler Pool Supply Co. – Our commercial pool service and chemical supply division has been servicing customers throughout the Tri-state region since 1932. Bulk liquid chlorine deliveries for commercial pools & water treatment facilities.
Tri-State Carbonation Service – A full service bulk CO2 distributor that supplies restaurants, bars, breweries and commercial eateries for the carbonation in fountain drinks, nitrogen generators and specialty gas blends and support for busy bars and micro-breweries all over New York State, Long Island, Northern NJ, Easter PA and Western CT and MA. In addition, TCS installs and services pH control systems for commercial swimming pools, eliminating the need for dangerous chemicals like muriatic acid in pools.
All Gas & Welding Supply Co. – Proudly serves the downstate New York, Eastern PA and Northern New Jersey marketplace since 1980. All Gas serves the highest quality industrial and specialty gases, bulk propane, welding equipment and supplies, filler metals and safety equipment.
Think about the process involved with paying bills! First, you need to open the bills and sort through them. Second, you have to write a check, fill out the payment forms, and write your address on the return envelope. Third, you need to dispose of the actual bill safely and securely, which requires a shredder or scissors and time. And finally, you need to drive to the post office or to a secure public mailbox, purchase a stamp and drop the bill in the mail.
Wouldn’t it be nice to avoid this all together? We know your time is valuable and by enrolling in Paperless Billing with Combined Energy Services we help you take your life back!!
Let’s take a look at why it makes the most sense to use paperless invoice systems:
1. More Secure
According to Bureau of Justice Statistics, in 2014 identity theft affected 17.6 million Americans, or about 7% of U.S residents age 16 or older. Majority of victims did not know how the offender obtained their information.
Every bill that is mailed to your home is an opportunity for someone to steal your identity. The danger isn’t just inside the mailbox, but also can occur in the trash can. Dumpster diving is a common technique for thieves to get your personal information.
Paper bills leave you vulnerable in many ways!
Did you know? Deforestation is the source of 25% of human caused greenhouse gas emissions. Over 40% of the global industrial wood harvest is used to make paper.
Paper and pulp industries rank #4 for greenhouse gas output as well as contributes 9% of total carbon dioxide emissions from manufacturing. Paper makes up 26% of landfills. Degradation produces methane, a greenhouse gas that has 23 times the heat trapping capacity of carbon dioxide. Land fields are the source of 34% of methane release – the single largest source in the U.S.
According to PayitGreen.org, if just 20% of American households switched to paperless billing, each year we would reduce gasoline consumption by 102,945,600 gallons, avoid 1,960,402 tons of greenhouse gases, and save 1,811,275 trees.
If just 20% of American households switched to paperless billing, each year we would reduce gasoline consumption, greenhouse gases and save trees!
3. Avoid Late Fees
Late fees can occur for a number of reasons. But many occur due to misplacing or losing paper bills. Late fees can be avoided by enrolling in paperless billing and automatic billing! Paying bills late has many ramifications: late fees, affected credit and more!
With paperless & automatic billing, you will never be incur another late fee or have to write a check again.
4. Saves Money
Paperless billing will help your pocket as well! One stamp now cost $0.49. The average number of monthly bills a household can receive is 7 to 9. That means the average household is spending approximately $4.41 each month / $52.92 each year on stamps alone!
The savings doesn’t stop with postage stamps. Some companies regularly run promotions where customers are given cash incentives to enroll in paperless billing.
Paperless billing saves you money!!
Time is money!! The less time you have to spend hassling with bills, the more time you have to work, relax or do whatever else you would like!
Take your life back with paperless billing!

March 3, 2017 – Combined Energy Services is expanding their signature products, services and exceptional customer service to fuel oil customers in Central and Western Orange County, NY!
The family owned and locally operated propane & fuel oil company that serves the Hudson Valley and Catskills, is excited to announce their new fuel oil distribution center at their Goshen, NY location!
What does this mean for you?
If you’re a fuel oil user and live in Central and Western Orange County, NY – you can now get your fuel oil from a long standing, reputable company who treats their customers like people… and not a number!!
Having a local fuel storage will ensure CES provides better service to their growing customer base in Central and Western Orange County NY vs. the method where many other “fuel oil companies” simply drive to the terminals on the Hudson River to refill – CES eliminates that and can focue their energy on better serving their local customer base instead of driving long distances.
This helps CES’ efficiencies and allows them to deliver fuel oil to local consumers at a savings, since they’re buying bulk via their own tractor trailers then refilling their smaller delivery trucks in Goshen.
That savings is passed along to the consumers!!
