Van Finds a New Home with Pets Alive

CES Donates Van to Pets Alive in Middletown, New York

Combined Energy Services and its subsidiaries have donated over 25 serviceable vehicles to local non-profit agencies over the last 8 years. From camps to animal shelter to veteran’s organizations, when a vehicle is no longer suitable to us, it can provide years of life and usefulness to someone else.

"We are glad to be able to give back to the communities that support our businesses," commented Mike Taylor. "These organizations typically run on very limited incomes. Our vehicle donations have a significant impact on their ability to continue help others."

CES recently retired several vehicles and offered one directly to Pets Alive. We discovered Pets Alive a few months ago. Mike Taylor  met with Executive Director Becky Tegze and Development Director Mary Ann Bopp for a tour of the grounds and explained their operation. At that time, we committed to donating propane.

"I was really impressed with their operation," Taylor said. "They not only save animals but work with the most difficult to place – the ones that have behavior issues or illnesses – to help them get adopted."

Pets Alive came and looked at the vehicles we had available. They decided upon one of the Ford F-350 service vehicles we had available. Pictured picking up the van is CES’s Ron Lindholm and Executive Drirector Becky Tegze from Pets Alive.

"This is a HUGE donation for us," commented Mary Ann Bopp, Developoment director. "Before we formed our partnership, late last year, we applied for a grant for a new van. Unfortunately, we recently heard the grant was declined. Then CES came along! So all things happen for a reason!"

Pets Alive is a no-kill animal rescue, located in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains, about 1 1/2 hours from New York City.
